Springtime has long been associated with renewal, cleaning and detoxification and if we look back to Ayurvedic wisdom we find that seasonal eating goes way beyond choosing what is in season.  We are encouraged to eat foods that help to maintain doshic balance as spring is a time of transition and it is easy to be thrown off balance!
