Retreating from the busy “merry-go-round” of life to immerse yourself in yoga and self-care for a week is, in my opinion, something everyone should do every once and a while. I ran my first ever retreat last month in Southern Turkey, at the tranquil Suleymans Gardens. This idyllic and rural location was absolutely perfect for reconnecting with natural rythmns, living and eating simply whilst detoxing from technology, round the clock news, celebrity gossip and over-processed foods.
The chance to get away from a life that whirrs “ever faster” and take a slower pace also creates mental space – to think, reappraise and see life and yourself in a whole new way. But don’t take my word for it – on retreat was fellow yogini, Becki Burrows, Creative Director of OhDearyme and prolific blogger and wordsmith “par excellence”.
